The Lottery
The village hall holds a lottery quarterly, half of the proceeds go towards supporting the hall, the other half of which are given back out in prizes.
Read on for further information regarding the lottery:
There will be one annual collection of £10 in April/May each year. Lottery numbers will be allocated at the time of payment and can be kept for subsequent years.
There will be 4 draws per year in June, September, December and March. Each draw will have 5 prizes. Half of the income will be returned in prizes and these will be bigger than before, ranging from £10 to £100 and possibly beyond. 50% of the income will be given as prize money and allocated as follows:
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | |
| March | 4% | 3% | 2% | 2% | 1% |
| June | 4% | 3% | 2% | 2% | 1% |
| September | 4% | 3% | 2% | 2% | 1% |
| December | 5% | 4% | 2% | 2% | 1% |
To give you an idea of what this means in terms of winnings here's an example. Say 300 people each pay the £10 that gives a total of £3000 and a payout of £1500. The payout segments would look like this:
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | |
| March | £120 | £90 | £60 | £60 | £30 |
| June | £120 | £90 | £60 | £60 | £30 |
| September | £120 | £90 | £60 | £60 | £30 |
| December | £150 | £120 | £60 | £60 | £30 |
